The sixth annual Swinging With The Stars fundraiser took place this past weekend. With the help of local celebrities and professional dance instructors, The Central Okanagan Hospice Association was able to raise over $218,000 at the sold-out event.
The Most Pledges Raised Trophy was awarded to Re/Max REALTOR®s Julie and Wolf Krieg and their campaign manager, Jane Hoffman. The team raised over $38,000 in pledges for this event. Jane Hoffman was honoured to once again help with this important fundraiser and cause.
The Audience Choice Trophy was awarded to Executive General Manager of Moxies Bar and Grill, Lonni Van Diest, and his professional dance partner Carley Bailey, of Canadian School of Ballet, for their fast-paced disco performance.
The Judges Choice Trophy was awarded to COHA President and Valley First Bank Manager, Marion Henselwood, and her partner Chisa Glendenning for their energetic hip hop routine.
The event is based on the popular TV show, Dancing with the Stars. Other local celebrities dancing this year included Loyal Woolridge and Ian Roth, coached by Melodie Sharma, Kelowna Dance; Dr. Christian Brix and Jessica Turanec, coached by Samantha Sambrielaz and Jaime Cubero, Latinesque Dance Studio; and Jenn Taylor partnered with Chris Thorburn, Ballroom Kelowna. Diane Pratt coached The Kriegs.
All funds raised from this event will support The Central Okanagan Hospice Association.
