Community Events February 24-26th

This is the weekend to get outdoors in the Okanagan!! The Regional District of the Okanagan is putting on two outdoor activities. As usual the Okanagan is offering lots of Family activites as well as an abundance of live music and Theatre. If you have’t checked out the Creekside Theatre the facility is putting on two live music events as well as a movie matinee for the whole family.  Enjoy the weekend everyone!

Living in Space at the Vernon Science Centre Polson Park, 2704 Hwy 6, Vernon BC.

An out-of-this-world exhibition at the Okanagan Science Centre until May 2012! Discover how astronauts work, entertain themselves and tackle basic tasks like eating, sleeping and personal hygiene.

Museum will be hosting a scavenger hunt for kids of all ages.

Rotary Centre of the Arts presents Checkhov’s Shorts Feb 23-25 at 7:30

Based on five bittersweet short stories, Chekhov’s On the Train provides the framework for this 90-minute one-act work. The passengers are a wonderful array of characters and slowly, their stories are revealed, hidden within each other like matrioshkas.

From HST to PST: Here’s The Details…

BC Government released today:

VICTORIA – New housing transition measures give certainty to an important economic sector and help to keep taxes equitable throughout the transition as the province returns to the PST, Finance Minister Kevin Falcon announced.

B.C. will return to the PST on April 1, 2013, meeting the Province’s commitment to return to the PST as quickly and responsibly as possible, while ensuring businesses can plan their training and systems switch-over effectively to apply the sales tax correctly.

Another weekend is upon us and once again the Okanagan is the place to be! Offering family events, a festival in Vernon for kids, winter recreation and lots of live music and theatre.  This week I found a website that will lead you to live music throughout the valley.  Hope you like it!
