Fun for Kids in Kelowna – August 2014

Summer’s in full swing and Kelowna is ripe with opportunity for families all season long. Between building sandcastles along the shores of Okanagan Lake, splashing in the lake’s warm water, the endless water activities available, hiking and biking, and enjoying everything Kelowna has to offer, by now you may be looking to add a little diversity to your list of summer activities.

There are many organized events in Kelowna that are great fun for kids, and adults alike. Here are a few of our favourites:

1) Outdoor Movies in the Park

West Kelowna Date: Tuesday August 12th

Time: 7:00pm concession and activities begin. Movie starts at dusk (around 8:30pm).

Admission: Suggested donation of $3 per person or $10 per family.

Kelowna Date: Wednesday August 13th

Time: 7:00pm concession and activities begin. Movie starts at dusk (around 8:30pm).

2) Park and Play

Have you seen the giant-sized board games and bouncy castle that have been taking over neighbourhood parks this summer?

The City of Kelowna’s Park & Play crew has been filling local parks across the city with games and activities suitable for all ages, and the fun keeps going until the end of August.

Check the schedule, bring the kids and get to know your neighbours at a Park & Play near you. Each event runs from 5 to 8 p.m.
