Playing on the Mountains & Magic on the Columbia River

Skiing
Revelstoke Mountain Resort offers Canada’s greatest vertical, at 1713 metres. The resort offers traditional skiing and lifts as well as Cat and Heli-skiing. You can also experience a winter wonderland with a snowshoe hike, or even try dogsledding! After a day on the slopes, warm up at one of the delicious restaurants at the resort, including the Mackenzie Common Tavern with a great selection of microbrews.

Begbie Falls
Hike your way to Begbie Falls, a charming waterfall on the Upper Arrow Lake. Check the trail report before you go, and bring your camera for amazing photo opportunities before the falls. Whether you’re an experienced hiker or a novice looking for a pleasant stroll, Revelstoke has numerous walking trails of varying difficulties. Whatever the season, you can find a hike to suit you.

Shuswap Lake
In the summer, Shuswap Lake makes the perfect vacation destination. Gaze over the placid water while strolling along sandy beach. The tree-covered mountains bring serenity to visitors–you’ll feel rested and refreshed in no time. In the winter, snowshoe through the Shuswap for a peaceful yet invigorating afternoon

Revelstoke Railway Museum
Spend a day inside learning about the amazing history of the Canadian Pacific Railway. The Revelstoke Railway Museum is one of the largest railway exhibits in Canada. See a steam engine up close, or tour the interior of historic business cars. A great place to take the kids!

Meadows In The Sky Parkway
The Meadows in the Sky Parkway is an experience like none other. Drive a scenic mountain trail, paved for safe and easy access, almost 1400 metres vertically. The trail starts on the Trans-Canada Highway (elevation 470 m) and ends at picturesque Balsam Lake (elevation 1835 m). Hike one of the marked trails at the summit and view the fragile, beautiful subalpine flora of the area. You’ll get views here you can’t match anywhere else.

After a Long Day of Play, Rest in Comfort & Convenience

The Regent
Naturally, when visiting Revelstoke, Jane stays at the Beruschi’s family-run hotel. The Regent has operated for decades–Jane’s cousin, Maureen Beruschi, has worked there for almost 50 years! The Regent Hotel carries the charming historic feel of Revelstoke into its modern rooms with up-to-date amenities. Each room is designed boutique-style, with no two exactly alike. After a peaceful night’s sleep, enjoy complimentary breakfast at the Mt. Begbie Breakfast Cafe.

Best Western Plus
One of the newest hotels in Revelstoke, the Best Western Plus offers reliable comfort in this beautiful mountain setting. You won’t believe the views from the rooms. Upload your best shots to social media thanks to the complimentary WiFi. As at the Regent, you can take advantage of shuttle service to some of the most popular restaurants and pubs in Revelstoke. See our Dining & Drinks section below for recommendations on dinner, a local beer, or a craft cocktail at the bar.

Good Food & Good Friends

112 Restaurant & Lounge
Local favourite, 112 Restaurant & Lounge is a fine dining experience in Revelstoke. Classic favourites prepared perfectly satisfy every palate, whether you’re enjoying fresh BC salmon or east-coast lobster. For a special experience, visit 112 during one of its live music nights.

Nico’s Pizzeria
This hole-in-the-wall pizza joint may look unassuming, but it makes unbelievably delicious Italian pies. Nico’s has classic pizzas, such as pepperoni & mushroom, or try one of their gourmet recipes. Round out your order with the melty indulgence of Quebec-style poutine.

The Village Idiot
For something on the eccentric side, try out this eatery and pub run by “toque wearing, beer drinking, pizza eating skiers & snowboarders.” Their menu is full of savoury items with quirky names (how about the “Ain’t No Thang But A Chicken Wang” wing dish?) The pub even offers complimentary shuttle service in the winter–give them a call for details.
