On Sept. 22, it was with great excitement and anticipation that the gates opened for the Harvest Ridge Luxury Orchard Estate Auction. More than 150 people from across Canada and the United States arrived to participate in the Live Auction of this spectacular piece of Kelowna Real Estate.

Jane Hoffman, the host REALTOR®, would like to congratulate Karen Everall and Blair Hallett for the successful sale of their home by auction.

“In this short period of time that we’ve had this property consigned to auction (60 days) we’ve had over 150 inquiries and 60 people through the property. That would have never happened under normal marketing conditions,” said Jane Hoffmann, President of Jane Hoffman Realty. “It happens over time but these owners wanted to know when the house was going to sell.”

The 35-acre Estate was sold for a record hammer price of $5,775,000 and the final price before tax was $6,315,000 setting a new record for the highest price paid for an off the lake property listed in the Okanagan.

“We’re thrilled with the success of the auction. We sold the luxury estate in 63 days and set a record price for an off the lake estate in the Okanagan,” said Alex Lambert, CEO of The Garage Sale Luxury Auction House.

“Our auction method is an effective call-to-action that attracted a competitive group of qualified bidders locally and internationally. The sellers are excited about the exceptional results and can now move on with the next chapter of their lives. The Garage Sale will roll out the red carpet for the new owner and ensure a 30-day closing,” added Lambert.

The auction was an effective platform for marketing the home and attracting the right buyer.

Okanagan off the lake estates and farms of this calibre valued over $4 million are sold, on average, once every two-to-three years and generally attract buyers interested in farming or those with a passion for the great outdoors, looking for a restful retreat or vacation home.

“I don’t think there is a more beautiful place to live in Canada. Every day I wake up and I’m thrilled that I live here,” Jane Hoffmann said when she addressed the crowd before the auction began.

In addition to the Luxury Estate Auction, an on-site charity auction raised nearly $60,000 for the BC and Yukon Chapter of the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada, a charity chosen by the sellers’.
