This week, we’re learning about REALTOR®, Paul Heinrich:
What is your idea of the perfect day?
My perfect day starts with the scent and taste of espresso coffee at home, or an Americano at Starbucks. I have always loved the outdoors, so in the spring, summer, and fall, I incorporate a nice walk into my day, either to jump-start the morning or to wrap up the evening. In the winter, nothing beats the first fresh tracks at Big White! As an avid fisherman, I’ve been able to explore many parts of our beautiful province. No matter what the season, I believe in finishing off a perfect day with a good meal and a glass of Okanagan red, shared with someone I love!
Favourite Okanagan activity?
I have skied all my life and have held a season’s pass at Big White since 1992. My children, Jordan and Makena (both born and raised in Kelowna!), give me plenty of reasons to discover this amazing region. Our family has always enjoyed everything Kelowna has to offer on the lake, up at the ski hill, and in the campgrounds around the Okanagan.
Most interesting experience?
Most interesting…you may be surprised to hear that it took place in Omaha, Nebraska. I was there to attend the Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. annual general meeting. At the AGM, I met Warren Buffet! Yes! Three times in one weekend, I had the privilege to walk with him and discuss the number of reasons to invest in a business. What an experience!
How has Kelowna changed over the course of your career?
I started my career in residential real estate in Kelowna in 1992, and eventually ended up managing NRS Block Brothers. Yes, I have come full circle and returned to my original passion! I have watched Kelowna transition from a small town to a mid-sized city.
