We have a phenomenal team at Jane Hoffman Group.
Each agent and member of our staff brings a distinctive personality to the mix. We’d like you to get to know us a little bit better!
We’ve asked everyone to answer some questions that will give us a little insight into who they really are.
This week, we’re learning about our intrepid leader, Jane Hoffman:
What was your first job?
My first job was selling produce at a fruit stand on the side of the highway in Revelstoke. This was just after the Trans-Canada highway opened, I remember waiting for the new produce to come in and selling it to travelers passing through or to tourists visiting Revelstoke.
What inspires you?
My son Michael. Like any parent, I am just so proud of him and everything he has accomplished. Seeing him with his own family and how he balances it all, it’s inspiring.
What is your most significant current challenge?
Balance. I have the tendency to become so completely engulfed in my day-to-day work that I sometimes forget to take time for myself. In the past year, I have realized that if I can take a bit of time for myself now and then, I am more effective for my clients. I really want to be able to spend time with my family and to take time to do the things I love, like skiing and snowshoeing, or hosting friends and family for dinners.
Favorite Okanagan activity?
Anything that lets me take advantage of the natural beauty of our region. It is difficult to choose just one activity. The Okanagan has so much to offer with trails, lakes, wineries, ski hills, beaches – I love it all!
What is your favourite aspect of your job?
I love learning about people. Being a real estate agent, I meet people from all walks of life, and I learn so much in the process. Being able to help people at a time when they are making a major life decision is so gratifying. I love seeing the joy my clients have when we sell their property or find their next home.
I am also grateful for the opportunity to work alongside Kristy Huber. We’ve been working together for over 25 years and it is so wonderful to work with someone that truly feels like family.
What is your idea of the perfect day away from work?
I think it would start with sleeping in, then maybe something to enjoy the outdoors with my family, either being on the lake in the summer or the ski hill in the winter.
Having a big dinner at La Bussola and enjoying a glass of Okanagan wine, followed by a bonfire and reminiscing with friends about how fortunate we are to live in such a beautiful city.
She has a very strong commitment to her community and is an avid supporter of the arts and Central Okanagan Hospice Association.
