Custom Cocktails for the Summer Season
Summer is made for evenings on the patio, enjoying the company of good friends in the warm Okanagan weather. As the stars come out, share laughter and friendship over a custom cocktail that shows your guests how glad you are they came.
Classic cocktails with minimalist ingredients are a hot trend for summer 2020. The refreshing Cape Codder gets an Okanagan makeover with a swap of fresh cherries for the traditional cranberry juice.
- 8 oz. vodka
- 16 oz. muddled cherries (approximately 24 cherries)
- 4 oz. fresh lime juice
- ice
- lime wedges for garnish
Place pitted cherries in a shallow bowl and mash. For a sweeter cocktail, add a tablespoon of sugar and let mashed cherries sit about an hour.
Fill four highball glasses with ice. Add 2 oz vodka, 4 oz muddled cherries, and 1 oz lime juice to each glass. Garnish with lime wedges and serve.
Blender drinks are making a comeback this summer. Inspired by the classic Rock Lobster, the Ogopogo reimagines the fruity blender drink with a local twist.
- 1.5 oz. light or white rum
- 0.75 oz. peach liqueur
- 0.5 oz. grenadine
- one ripe peach, peeled and sliced
- splash of orange juice
- 1 cup of ice
- 0.25 oz. dark rum
In a blender, combine all ingredients except for dark rum. Blend until smooth. Pour into a chilled highball glass and float the dark rum on top (slowly pour in rum over the back of a spoon). Serve immediately.
