The valley lies in the shadow of the Cascade Mountains, creating a hot, sunny, dry climate. Summers are warm with hot days, cool nights, and fairly low humidity. Most of the valley receives about 2000 hours of sunlight per year and approximately 13 inches of rain a year and 41 inches of snow.
